Several states and districts across the country are engaging in innovative school board governance work that is impacting student achievement. The model, which is customized for each team, focuses on training for local school board members to re-focus on student outcomes and build capacity for continuous improvement. With more than 90,000 individuals serving as locally elected school board members governing local public education policy across more than 13,000 school districts nationwide, there is an enormous opportunity for education leaders to provide partnership and support to local leaders to positively improve student outcomes.
