Educator Standards

This page houses the InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards: A Resource for State Dialogue released in 2013, and the 2015 Model Principal Supervisor Professional Standards. Both sets of standards carry a Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0) license, allowing anyone to copy, share, remix and adapt a work for noncommercial purposes as long as they give proper attribution, indicate any changes and distribute any derivative works under the same license.

CCSSO does not plan to update either set of standards at this time. Please reach out to your state or territory for more specific information.

-InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards: In 2013, through its Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC), CCSSO developed this set of combined resources that both define and support ongoing teacher effectiveness to ensure students reach college- and career-ready standards. This resource includes the InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards: A Resource for State Dialogue, which was released in April 2011, and the InTASC Learning Progressions for Teachers 1.0: A Resource for Ongoing Teacher Development (2013).

-Model Principal Supervisor Professional Standards: In 2015, CCSSO released the Model Principal Supervisor Professional Standards, offering guidance on what a principal supervisor should know and be able to do to improve the effectiveness of the school leaders with whom they work.
