Coalition Perspectives: Along the Road to Recovery:  How ESSER Funds are Making an Impact

Engage with Us

March holds several important anniversaries in the country’s efforts to help schools address the impacts of COVID-19. The first federal pandemic relief measure, the CARES Act, was signed into law March 27, 2020, and the American Rescue Plan Act was signed March 11, 2021. Those bills, plus other relief measures, provided a total of $190 billion to states and school districts to support our nation’s students in recovering from the impacts of the pandemic.

The Coalition to Advance Future Student Success is eager to elevate the stories of how this aid, provided through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund, is making an impact in schools thus far. March’s Coalition in Action newsletter is a special edition filled with great stories of impact and videos featuring the voices of those on the front lines in our schools. From investments in accelerated learning initiatives to teacher recruitment and retention strategies, we hope you will take a moment to explore just a few examples from across the Coalition.

We also invite you to join us in sharing the ways these funds are making an impact with your online communities! You are welcome to engage with us using this toolkit. Remember to include the #ESSERImpact hashtag in your posts!
