The Coalition to Advance Future Student Success – 2022 Year in Review
The Coalition to Advance Future Student Success has worked hard all year to support its members to ensure the equitable, impactful investment of the historic injection of federal funding. The Coalition has been able to share the important work its members are accomplishing aligned to the Framework to Drive Support and Consistent Guidance using COVID relief funds. Here are some highlights the Coalition has worked diligently on throughout 2022 to support its members.
In May, the Coalition in Action monthly newsletter was launched. The newsletter features stories, resources, and new initiatives aligned to the Framework and funded by COVID relief funds. Previous issues of the newsletter are here and to subscribe to receive monthly updates, click here.
This summer, the Coalition to Advance Future Student Success launched a website to showcase resources and best practices from Coalition members aligned to the Framework. To date, the website includes a library with over 75 resources from all 12 members of the Coalition.
The website also includes the “Coalition Perspectives” blog. The blog offers a home to guest columnists from Coalition members, cross-published articles, interviews and other compelling information. We recently posted a 3-part series on how Coalition members are using COVID relief funds to transform public schools to acknowledge the September 30th ESSER obligation date. The series highlighted a Route K-12 Podcast episode where Maryland State Superintendent of Education Mohammed Choudhury shared how the state is leveraging federal funds to improve equity. Superintendent Choudhury’s work to transform education in Maryland was also featured in Forbes magazine.
