ESSER Impact Spotlight on Missouri: Strengthening the Educator Workforce

To address persistent teacher shortages, Missouri awarded $50 million from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) fund state set-aside for teacher recruitment and retention grants. With this funding, local education agencies, educator preparation programs and community colleges are working to design, implement and evaluate strategies such as grow your own, teacher mentorships and more.
