How Traditional U.S. Department of Education Grants Can Help Sustain ESSER Activities

With the final round of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds set to be obligated by September 2024, school districts and states are developing strategies to ensure the continued support of effective initiatives that were funded through ESSER. The Coalition to Advance Future Student Success worked in partnership with the Federal Education Group, PLLC to develop How Traditional U.S. Department of Education Grants Can Help Sustain ESSER Activities to help state and district leaders identify strategies and pathways to sustain high-impact investments, as well as a companion video and slide deck

These materials highlight U.S. Department of Education (ED) grant programs and allowable uses that align to common ESSER-funded activities, focusing on Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part B because they are the largest ED programs.
